Buttock Augmentation - New Orleans, LA

For years many women have been unhappy with the size, shape or flabby appearance of their buttocks. They have tried exercise to enhance the shape of their buttocks with little or no success. Many feel that their jeans just don’t fit right, they don’t look good in a bathing suit or their buttocks are disproportionate to the rest of their body.

Until recently changing the shape of one’s buttocks was something only celebrities even considered. Now Buttock Augmentation is becoming one of our most popular cosmetic procedures. It has both men and women thinking of lifting, sculpting or augmenting their buttocks into a more desirable shape.

What is Buttock Augmentation?

Our doctor performs Buttock Augmentation for patients in our region as an enhancement procedure to improve the overall look, shape and size of the buttocks. Enlargement of the butt is traditionally accomplished with liposuction and fat transplantation, while some doctors may choose to offer buttock implants.

Your consultation

During your consultation, our doctor will review your medical history and decide if you’re a good candidate for this procedure. Our doctor will explain your treatment options and recommend which procedures will provide your desired results. You may be shown before and after photos to help you visualize the various results possible. In addition, realistic expectations are explained and surgical procedures are discussed along with their risks and benefits, as well as your post surgery recovery. The procedure is generally performed on an outpatient basis and anesthesia varies with the extent of the procedure.

How long is the procedure?

Buttock Augmentation surgery usually takes 2 – 3 hours.

The procedure

The most frequent procedure used to improve the overall look, shape and size of the buttocks is fat transplantation. It is sometimes referred to as a Brazilian Butt Lift. Our surgeon will determine the areas to harvest the fat cells from and perform liposuction first. These areas are usually the abdomen and hips, but may include your back or thighs. Next the fat cells that have been removed are processed. Your fat is purified and reinjected into your buttocks at different depths to achieve the results you desire. Oftentimes our surgeon will fine tune your new look with additional lipo-sculpting techniques. Not only do patients achieve a “perkier butt,” another bonus is the areas of liposuction will often be leaner and more proportional to the rest of your body.

If our surgeon agrees, implants may be another option for some patients. The implants, usually made of solid silicone, are surgically inserted into each buttock to enhance the shape and size. This option is usually selected for thin patients when desired results cannot be achieved with fat injections alone. Our surgeon will recommend the appropriate procedure to achieve the attractive, well defined buttock results that you desire.

What will my recovery be like?

After our doctor performs your Buttock Augmentation surgery, most patients experience some swelling and soreness or pain that can be controlled with oral medication. Patients may be required to avoid sitting from several days to a week depending on the extent of surgery. A compression garment must be worn for 2 – 4 weeks to reduce swelling. Cold compresses can be used to further reduce swelling and ease discomfort. Patients may return to work in a few days or in up to two weeks depending on the type of their employment and the extent of the surgery. After approximately four weeks patients feel back to normal and may resume exercise.

As with all surgical procedures it’s important to follow our doctor’s recovery instructions for optimum healing and results.
